Frequently Asked Questions
Here's a list of questions we're frequently asked, with some helfpul answers.
What is vaping?
Vaporized E-liquid used as an aid to quit smoking.
The act of “Vaping” is inhaling a vapor that is created by an electronic cigarette, also known as Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS). Considering the lack of combustion or burning, a person who is vaping is not being exposed to the over 400 carcinogenic compounds that come from an analog cigarette. Products can contain different amounts of nicotine (0 - 48 mgs) in order to help with simulating the experience of smoking tobacco cigarettes.
What is E-liquid/E-juice?
E-liquid/E-juice consist of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), flavorings, and in most cases, nicotine.
E-liquid/E-juice is the substance used in vapor products to create the vapor that simulates the act of smoking. It is most commonly made of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and flavorings. It can also contain nicotine and is available in different strengths, ranging from 0mg to 12mg in freebase E-liquid used with sub ohm vaporizers and 24mg to 48mg in nicotine salt (Nic Salt) liquids used with low-powered pod systems.
What is Nic Salt?
Nic Salts are a specific type of E-liquid, meant for a low powered vaporizer, with a higher nicotine content.
Nic Salt E-liquids are different from freebase nicotine, but what makes nicotine salts different depends on two important components:
★ Smoother throat hit
★ Better nicotine absorbability
Nicotine salts are not meant for sub-ohm high-powered devices because of the higher concentration of nicotine. These E-liquids use high nicotine strengths such as 24 mg nicotine levels compared to the usual 3 or 6 mgs. Low wattage devices are ideal for nicotine salts due to nicotine intensifying with heat. With lower wattage devices, also known as Mouth to Lung (MTL) devices, allows those vaping a higher nicotine delivery with a satisfying hit.
DO NOT use nicotine salts in high-powered or sub-ohm devices to prevent excessive nicotine consumption.
What is Vitamin E Acetate? What are the risks? Does Vapetasia use it in our products?
Vitamin E Acetate is a popular new diluent thickener found mostly in illicit market THC vape cartridges, said to be likely linked to recent rise in illnesses related to its consumption from THC containing vape products. NO! Vapetasia does NOT use any Vitamin E Acetate in ANY of our products!
Vitamin E acetate (also known as tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol acetate) is a common constituent of skin care products and dietary supplements. When used topically or ingested Vitamin E possesses antioxidant properties that can help protect the body's cells against the effects of free radicals, which are produced when the body converts food into energy. Unfortunately, it has also been known to be popular new diluent thickener found mostly in illicit market THC vape cartridges. The issue is the cosmetics industry never considered tocopherols’ use for inhalation!
Recent investigation has found vitamin E acetate present in nearly every marijuana product sample collected from 34 patients who used at least one cannabis-containing vape product before falling ill. The oil-like properties of vitamin E acetate is most likely to be associated with the symptoms observed in many of the severe lung illness cases tied to vaping, according to the investigation that is still currently underway.
Vapetasia does NOT and has NEVER used any form of this chemical in our products!
What E-liquid strength should I start with?
It really depends on the person's vaping preferences. If you're quitting a one-pack-a-day smoking habit, 6 - 12 mgs would work best, and over time getting used to 3 - 0 mgs.
Most modern liquids use a combination of propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), nicotine content, flavoring, and some vaping setups only work with a certain level of PG and VG. It’s important for first-timers to use liquid with the correct ratio for their setup, as the wrong consistency will result in a vape that’s not enjoyable and can put people off.
For some smokers, making the switch to a sub-ohm device may be too much vapor compared to what they are used to with traditional cigarettes. In this case, if vaping from a sub-ohm device didn’t work, nic salts might do the trick. Nic salts are used in MTL devices delivering an inhale & exhale experience closer to smoking, without all the harmful carcinogens.
Nicotine strength is based on personal preference and the best way to find out what strength best suits you is to try different strengths first. But if you are just starting out, coming straight from smoking, a stronger nicotine concentration, it is usually suggested to start at around 6 mg or 12 mg.
When does my E-liquid expire?
1 year after the bottle’s born date. Experiences may vary depending on storage and handling.
Now there is no official expiration of E-liquid established as of now, but a common rule is to base the life of E-liquid off of the PG, VG, and Nicotine, if stored correctly, it can be expected to last for 1 year after being manufactured. Many factors can change whether or not different E-liquids will expire quicker than one another, such as the different flavorings used, temperature bottle is stored in, nicotine content, etc. Vapetasia has a 1-year expiration on all of our liquids to still be enjoyable, but that is just our general recommendation.
How should E-liquid be stored and maintained?
Cool, dry location, keep out of reach of children and pets.
Generally, when used within a year of the born date on the bottle, you can rely on Vapetasia products tasting incredible! All Vapetasia flavors are designed to be ready to vape the moment you purchase them. If stored correctly, in a safe, cool and dry place in a sealed container, the shelf life is about one year and should be kept at room temperature away from direct sunlight between each use. There is no need to refrigerate our products.
However, the flavor is subjective. Many vapers find that their flavors have improved over time with exposure to heat, light, and air. Exposure to sunlight and contact with air will cause Vapetasia E-liquids to darken in color as it accelerates the aging process in our nicotine products. This process is known as “steeping”. If you ever experience an issue with your Vapetasia product, contact us immediately and we will work with you to solve the problem.
